Our living room and dining room are open to one another. We've painted the walls and ceiling, and added tile to accent the fireplace. Long term, we will get a new gray couch, recover the chair, and possibly build storage pieces to flank the fireplace. Also on our wish list are a new dining table and new chairs. We bought the china cabinet for $100 on Craigslist and painted it and lined the back with paper. I seriously, seriously want to repaint it black and get some less... crazy paper.
I also recently made drapes from a gray and white linen ticking stripe but I suck at taking pictures. That's also why these pictures all have Christmas decorations. That's the only time I bothered taking pictures since we painted (in August).

We moved in to a kitchen with white formica counter tops, blue walls, and parrot wallpaper border around the room. We've painted the walls a very light gray, given the cabinets a fresh coat of paint, put in a new light fixture above the sink, and replaced the oven. We also put in floating spice rack and a plate collage. We've ordered white subway tile and a gray glass accent tile for the backsplash, and will tile it most likely in May. The only parrot we have left is a gift from friends, on the fridge!
Our laundry room was bright blue and the window was covered by shelving. We took out the shelving and brightened it up with a light gray.
Our bedroom and bath were both pinkish tan and boring. We painted the bedroom a gray blue and added a Moroccan tile pattern in a tonal color near the ceiling. In the bathroom, we used a light gray on the walls, and painted the vanity a dove gray. We used art and fabric to bring in the bedroom colors.
